Teresa Tam started photography in the late 1990's, and then began photographing performing artists in 2006 while she was working on her masters in vocal performance at Boston University. Later she found her true photographic strength in portraiture during her intensive studies at the Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts. The background in music as a performer herself allow her to relate and connect with artists of all kinds. Perfectionism and sensitivities from her extensive performing arts experience gave her the unique abilities to translate each person’s personality in the most polished, yet genuine look onto the photographs. Great portrait is an image “about” the person, not just “of” the person. Most of us feel vulnerable and intimated in front of the big camera. Teresa make the effort to really communicate with her subject to instill trust and help them relax and have fun at the shoot. Teresa handle the consultation, photo shoot, as well as the post production to ensure the best possible quality of your final images.
